My Beloved Davy Jones Has Passed Away :(
With the heaviest of hearts, I am saddened to write that Davy Jones, former lead singer of the legendary group The Monkees, has passed away. Davy was only 66.
Davy passed away this morning after suffering a heart attack.
He is survived by his wife, Jessica, and his four daughters from previous marriages.
Davy, along with Micky Dolenz, Michael Nesmith and Peter Tork, joined The Monkees in 1966. The group's single "I'm A Believer" was the top charting track of 1967. Over the course of its career, the band collected an array of accolades, including two Emmy awards and a number of Billboard hit singles and albums.
On a personal note, we will miss Davy incredibly. He was our celebrity cover for our 1st anniversary issue, and he allowed us exclusive access to his home in PA. He was wonderful, gracious, and even performed a serenade of "Daydream Believer." Click below to hear it.
Davy, we will miss you. You were a true celebrity and a fine gentleman.
