Outer beauty is the most vivid reflection of inner health. That’s why the products you use on your body and apply to your skin are just as important as the food you eat. Brandy Velasquez, Organic Cosmetologist and Spa Director at Health LA, offers a few natural alternatives to add to your beauty regimen.
Mix essential oils and water in a spray bottle which blend with your individual chemistry to create a beautiful and unique personal fragrance. This blend is known to help with women’s emotions and hormone balance:
rose, jasmine, bergamot, cinnamon, citrus, vetiver, ylang ylang, cocoa, vanilla, sandalwood.
For a facial cleanser always use something ph balanced. Depending on your skin type, try the following:
-Tea tree oil can be added to cleansers to clear breakouts.
-Coconut oil and shea butter are great moisturizers.
For a good-for-you body scrub, mix organic sugar with citrus essential oil and coconut oil. Apply this scrub after dry brushing but prior to showering.
Another option is to use castile soap. It can be mixed with essential oils to make hand soaps or body washes and is available at stores such as Whole Foods or Trader Joes.
