Close your eyes and think of a cupcake. Pick any flavor you like. It seems that just the word elicits happiness and smiles. So when the kind folks over at CupcakeStop — NYC’s first (and finest) mobile cupcake truck — invited Celebrity Parents down for a tasting, we naturally obliged. And we’re sure glad we did.
Readers, the cupcakes at CupcakeStop are decadent and a half. It was worth the schlep in the 90+ degree heat and humidity of a NYC summer day to sample these little bites of heaven. On the menu yesterday: Oreo, Red Velvet, Chocolate Peanut Butter Swirl, Key Lime and Carrot Cake.
The Red Velvet was amazing, with its cream cheese frosting. The Carrot Cake was awesome with its shreds of carrot in it. As a huge peanut butter lover, I LOVED the Chocolate Peanut Butter Swirl (the peanut butter was super fresh and nicely ground), but the cake was a drop firmer than I would have liked. The Key Lime was insane; from the beautiful green color to the delicate taste. I totally loved the little key lime pudding-esque center, which was a really nice surprise!
Sadly, I didn’t get to taste the Oreo, because my kids devoured them. But they assured me that it was one of the best cupcakes they’ve ever had. And I have to agree with them.
